Russell Bentley and I regularly host a bunch of guys from Essex who visit Devon to ride our lanes. I noted one of them was using this tyre (front and rear) I quizzed him about it and he rated it very highly (he had a Husky 350 4t), said he also had a set on his previous bike which was a Beta X-Trainer. Wear rate was exceptionally good (in comparison to an MT43), grip was good on the rocky stuff but this tyre was better in the goo due to a much deeper tread than the MT43. He told me to look at the reviews on YouTube which I have and I must say if be tempted. He bought his from overseas so with the shipping they weren't a cheap option (£80 odd for a rear from recollection. I'd normally pay £50 odd for a Maxxis IT Pro).

My son, who is a very 'tasty' rider (some of you may know him from when he ran the RAF training days at Combe Sydenham), spent 3 years in the USA riding all manner of terrain (except for deep mud, which is in short supply in Nevada ).
He rated the Motoz Mountain Hybrid as the best all-purpose tyre he has ever used and we have been trying to get them in this country ever since he returned.
Grip is exceptionally good on most surfaces. The only time a 'knobbly' performed marginally better was in deep sand - I imagine the same would apply for deep mud. Tyre walls are stronger than other trials pattern tyres (MT43 included) so lend themselves to running low pressures without damage - he routinely used them with Tubliss as low as 3-4psi, both at race speeds and 'trialsy' riding, in desert/rocky mountain terrain. Tread blocks are also deeper than other trials tyres.
The compound manages to somehow combine good grip with exceptional durability.
It is a heavy tyre, so maybe not ideally suited for the smaller engined bikes but, for anything with a bit of 'oomph', I reckon they may be the next 'must have' trail riding tyre; they will also be acceptable for any STRF events that specify trials rear tyres.
We have got our order in with Adventure Spec and are just awaiting delivery. If you do decide to order, don't forget the discount code TRFLOWIMPACT to get 15% off list price.
Im keen not to support AS if I can help it at all due to their lack of enthusiasm in wanting to help when my GIT bashplate welds snapped, but I do like the sound of this tyre for the back of the 690

If you look at the Goldentyre website, it says they are 'Adventure Spec Distribution'
so £65 with free p&p from Goldentyre or £62.24 from AS using the TRFLOWIMPACT discount code. If either outlet has them in stock!

There's nothing worse than spares in your garage in Devon when you're t1ts up in the Pyrenees - take the bloody lot, even if you have to bend the doors shut around 'em

Are you using it for Spain?? I have three new tyres to choose from now Maxxis IT Pro, Mt43 and the Hybrid not sure which to use for Spain of Woohoo LDT need to test the MT43 and Hybrid with a mousse too, to make sure they stay on the rim :)
For what it's worth, my MT43 resembles a racing slick and has to go after today's experiences . I'm planning to get a used Michelin X from Martin for WooHoo and T2T & to tide me over until Spain then fit a new MT43 or Motoz (if it arrives in time) Front is also needed

Its a 10 from me, 4psi on tubeless and on the lanes I reckon I could run it 0 psi depending on the terrain . Side walls are stiffer than the MT43 , but the trade off is 16 lbs in weight and a harder lot harder rubber than the 43,
The discount code supplied above does not work any more, was it for a limited time,? i have put it in higher and lower case..
or was it just for the above tyres as i was going to order some different ones..
Mike..

The discount code is still good Mike, but adventure Spec are no longer taking orders for the Mountain Hybrid. The code was only ever good on Motoz tyres.
For some unfathomable reason (the tyre was just starting to take off in a big way) Motoz are no longer going to supply them to UK. The Extreme Hybrid will be available, but not the Mountain. I have no knowledge of the Extreme.
