Top end of Rocombe hill. Nearly seriously injured one of our group.
What I cannot understand is a rider on a KTM came down as we were coming up, we had to stop on the steeper section as a tree was across the lane, he said nothing, plus some shifty old man with a beard walking down the steeper part and said it could get interesting up the lane but no mention of a rope.
I am saying nothing more on the subject as I don't post here much these days as we have our own forum that suits us better, no offence but thought it is worth a mention as I have only just started riding again and have come across many deliberate blockages and two booby traps.
Need to inform the Police and the local parish council, this action worked very well when there was a similar incident near otterton, the issue never occured again !!!

How close to the end of the lane was the rope? what sort of rope?
I rode past the 'top' of this lane earlier this year and there was what I considered to be a farmers 'stock' rope across the lane, where it meets the tarmac, which I thought was to prevent cattle wandering in when being moved along Ridge Road.
202-052
It was a blue rope about 8mm 20/30ft tied between trees only on one side off the lane and it was pulled across the lane like a bow and arrow at chest height i still have the rope burns on my jacket, it had to be deliberate im hoping someone will load up a picture later
It was a odd day as we went up 202-052 from the bottom we reached the gully there was a a tree down totally blocking us ,the rope was a further 50 meters up on the next bend
While we was moving the tree a rambler mentioned about it getting more interesting further up
We also saw him 202-029 in a hedge near the bottom bend
