i fitted my Held crash bars today which was an Xmas present to myself.
i wanted to protect the fairing on my 1987 Xl600 before taking it off road, the held bars were great value at £109 with free delivery from Poland so well pleased with the price, very impressive build quality and finish.
you guys may already have held bars fitted so I just thought I would mention allow plenty of time for fitting, all I had to do was remove the belly pan so I was thinking maybe 45 mins to fit without rushing.
how wrong was I as one of the spacers was too long for the bolt provided so had to make my own and it took a lot of brut force To get every to one up and look correct so all in all nearly two hours to fit and happy with fitting and how they look but lots of patience required !
Looks good, if i was you i would change the bash plate as the plastic one is a bit flimsy as a rock could take out a casing. I think sw motech do them or mod a early Africa twin one if can find one cheap
i know XR250 /600 wide foot pegs fit the Africa twin 650 (RD03) iv'e got them on my one they should also fit the transalp as well.
Regards
Steve
