Neil did you leave a note suggesting they hop up on the right bank to avoid the mud. It's what I do on that lane.

Opposite side to bank is shallow.

The car looks to be beached, the high spot between ruts has been trimmed off by the car, probably going to make a mess of bumpers towing it back out.

A couple of years ago, riding up lane from Venny Tedburn to Old ridge, met a very stuck nearly new Audi, with distressed elderly lady. No idea who she was. I offered to get it out, any damage wasn't down to me!!!! I managed to get one side up the bank, other in the middle. I got such a stiff neck. All went well, she thanked me and we parted. A week later, a thank you card and a Wetherspoons gift card for Sue and I. No idea who she was, but touched that she went to the trouble of finding us etc.

Some people are such plonkers, who the hell would take a town car down that lane!!! I'd feel embarrassed if I'd taken a 4x4 down there and got myself stuck, what a plonker.

I was horrified when I looked at what my mates Sat Nav deemed to be useable roads locally and the driver was probably a victim of his not so clever technology. In fairness the road is shown on OS maps as a yellow road and not a white road with green dots like most unmetalled routes.
