So todays rideout didnt quiet go to plan but we still did most of the lanes planned, albeit if it took us a little longer than it was supposed to. 130 miles and up past North Tawton, lunch stop on the way back at Whiddon down. Thanks to Geoff Kelly for sharing the leading
So i dont have many photos of lanes as today we spent a lot of time fixing puntures ?????
So Nicks first punchure was at Haytor, a thorn, we sent Greg to a farmer friend and he bought back another spare tube, but we had already patched the hole and removed the thorn.
On we went, then the second punchure which turned out to be the patch had shifted, so in went our first new tube albeit a front tube in the rear, off we went again and then another punchure, so off with the tyre again this time a nail, so in with our second tube but this one didnt even get on the bike before it went down and was discovered to have two holes in it, so in went the borrowed tube from the morning and we limped home.
For one rider to have three punchures and go through four tubes in one ride is very unlucky and i think Nick had had enough by the end of the day and will be buying some mousses pretty soon, but I for one still had a great day with old friends, as we enjoyed even more banter than if we had been riding all day???
