We are planning a short notice two day trip based in Devizes and would welcome any route suggestions, preferably as a GPX, but anything would be appreciated.
Hi all. Thanks again to those of you who sent in routes for the Plains.
It was somewhat too hot on all three days so we didn't always achieve our target for the day, but apart from the Ridgeway we hardly saw anyone and definitely didn't see any military on the ranges, only a few walkers and cyclists and a convoy of off roaders... Even the chalk lanes were friendly! Still found a few lanes that were still (seriously) flooded but we only aborted on one.
Well worth the trip.
We stayed at the Castle Hotel in Devizes, which has excellent secure bike storage.
Just finished washing the bike so may join those going out in the morning if I am not too stiff!
