The Viewpoint, Sidmouth

Shocked and saddened by what I saw this morning on a walk from Mutters Moor to The Viewpoint.

The two beautiful oak trees have been chopped to the ground and all the overhanging branches removed, this has happened in the last two weeks.Screenshot 2021-10-10 at 13.21.37.png

They were probably 200 years old at least, there were a lot of rings and no sign of disease to my amateur eye. I don't understand why?

Another case of some muppets "Risk assessment"
Truly sad.

Chris bumped into the contractor who did this work and the trees were apparently diseased, : (

Think on the bright side Jacks.

It still doesn't spoil the view you go up there to see.
