I think we ( those same old 10 faces .... ) reckoned that we had to have a fixed regular meeting place so newbies could find us.
It would take some organising to get the national info updated as we moved around and hope that newbies were able to access the latest info.
Not impossible but someone would have to schedule a programme a few months ahead and finding locations with a free of charge meeting room isnt that easy.
A lot easier if its just informal and social and no chance of upsets or misunderstandings if someone doesnt hear what is being proposed / discussed / voted on .
And if anyone wanted to throw out an invite to gather anywhere, anytime ( which is what the o.p. is ) , we would be delighted and might even attend ...... occasionally obviously
