Hi plotted a nice loop using the Trf green map 106km,completed it today but came across a few lanes with issues one that had sign stating it was a Bridleway so navigated round it then i had two others with one going up past a house and as i approached the owner was outside and he said that it was a footpath so no motor vehicles, then the last one skirted round a farm yard which was having some construction work done and i stopped to ask if the trail was accessible but they answered that it had gone and no longer existed.Question is how do i check if the Greenmap is correct ect
you can assume that the GRM is correct and that the 'local' information could be based on local hearsay, their own view or just miss information because they don't want you there.
All the Devon information is correct, do you have our own overlays to check your route and if you do, what are the lane numbers of the lanes involved.
Devon TRF have long had a set of GPx routes for each lane in Devon. The lanes have been given a number to identify them on a map.
They were produced by a pioneering group of members and are available to members to use for planning their own days out. If you have had a welcome email from Ray all the information is contained therein.
If you are a member of Devon TRF you can request a copy from John Leah.
Hi Jon, new TRF members will receive a Welcome email from me once the membership record is updated.
I only receive the updated membership list once a month, if you've joined very recently and selected Devon as your primary group, it'll be a couple of weeks before I can send the email.
The email will explain a great deal about the group, and the important information as to the network of lanes.
In the mean time post up the lanes where you had the issues, and I'll look into it.
If you kept a GPS tracklog of your ride, that would also prove useful information as to where you actually rode.
The short section under the North Devon link road is technically a bridleway but links two UCR's 180-196 which stops just south of the link road and 180-073 which stars in Riverton and heads north. This section has traditionally been ridden by many with no challenge. The Devon overlays do not show it as a through route
