So here in vietnam on our 6 day tour we doing the ha gaing loop but wanted to extend it to 6 days to go to the biggest waterfall in Vietnam which borders china. So may pop over to china tomorrow.
First day was misty rain go rather wet but the poncho helped alot. Day 2 was misty but not wet luckily. So most of the ha gaing part all the lovely amazing views you see if you look on Google we didn't see! Most the time could see maximum of 100meters in front of us on the higher points.
Day 3 has been amazing was sunny and warm going into the mountains of which the tourists don't go. Only seeing other westerners at the homestay in the evening which was on top of one of the mountain peaks.
This is where the views and culture really came out.
As with Asia all the things your hear about are true family's of 4-5 on a bike, 18 chickens crammed in cages on the back of Scooters
We are riding honda xr150 which are ok but with 2 people on I think could have done with a crf 250.
Road up the steepest mountain pass which was still being worked on to widen with diggers and went on a hike to get some photos at the top. Once back they were hurrying us to get back as they were just about to detonate some dynamite and waited to see it that was an experience.
Then last of today we went to see a mountain with a big hole in the middle and a nice little open area to have a bit of a play around.
Let's see what the next few has has to offer. Brilliant so far

The street food was fantastic when we were there a few years ago, is it still as good?
Yeh all the food has been great in Vietnam so far. On the tour been eating all the local food where they put just a whole load on the table and all share.
Hi Trevor unfortunately I won't be I'm away until march else I would have tried to make it. So hopefully if the teign to tamar is on and on in later march or April then should join for that.
Certainly is the dream hopefully do some more riding in loas and going to do a one day enduro tour in Cambodia that I will be really excited for.
And yes ray that's the one it's ban gioc waterfall. Tour guide said we will be riding the road that follows the border today.
I had a great time doing a similar trip in 2016 on XTR125s.
This waterfall?
Here you go ray you can now see it in the sunshine! It was amazing! Here's some more photos from day 4-5. And a a look at what kind of food we were eating.
Must say we were glad to finish on the 6th day with bad backs and numb bums!!!
