Is it possible to restore the cross hatching on vice jaws?

I have worn the end sections of the jaws on my Paramor 4 vice smooth and thought to buy a new pair but they are coming out at nearly £40 with p&p. See here

Anyone know if it is possible to restore the cross hatching on my original jaws please?

Also, might the existing jaws be reversible with a new face on t'other side - or would that just be too sensible?

Brian

Thanks Mike but that looks just a little too much effort for me! I will just have to put up with my smooth jaws a bit longer biggrin

How about you use a small hand held angle grinder with a 1mm thick steel cutting disc and create a simple grid . It doesnt have to be as tight a grid as the original to improve grip .
You might need a vice to hold the jaw while you do this though. confuse

Not a bad idea Noel - and simple enough for me to try!

I just had a closer look at the jaws and they are definitely past their sell by date!

Thanks Ian but, sadly, they don't have them in stock in my size. I could buy bigger and cut down but the chances of me getting the screw holes right would be close to zero disbelief
