As mentioned in my recent ride report there is a large tree down at the Southern end of this lane. It is passable if you manhandle the bike over it but it was a struggle and took more than one person per bike

Difficult to see from pictures with all the ivy, what sort of size is it Geoff?
Silky saw "Ziubat" would see that cut in half whilst the trail riders are there on site....DTRF should issue such saws to established members such as these guys
Would save time & energy in sending out a separate team, there needs to be more input from trail riders
Both Russ and I had SILKY F-180 folding pocket saws - as we always carry - but they wouldn't have been man enough for this tree. A "Zuibat" that Wacky mentioned may just about be man enough ...... but a chainsaw would be best. The trunk was a good 10" - 12" diameter. We tired to move it but it was waaaaay too heavy.
Cheers Ray for offering to take a look to sort it out.
Not quite on the same scale as the tree on this lane in 2013
I've got a picture of me stood on that tree before it was cut to make a clear path. Needless to say upon finding that we had to turn around and head back the way we came (down the lane). Twas a monster was that one, as can be seen in this pic. Thx for sharing Pete.

Time for an upgrade then Geoff
Silky Zubat 330 is 13 inches in cutting length with a curved blade for ease of cutting and far more efficient in cutting - magic saws
