The track up from the A38 Buckfastleigh turninig

Heading to  Plymouth take the Buckfastleigh turning and immediately left is a byway.  It looks like it should be easy, but steep, with lose rocks, its a nasty little ***!

I think I pinched the tube on it, running 14 psi, as I got a flat soon after.

I have a Bullit 500, excellent grunty engine for this kind of work

I wonder if that's the one that the MCC used a few times on the Exeter Trial years ago? They called it Baddaford lane as I remember?

The Ten Tors LDT have used it, and the section part way up was called Baddaford Lane.

Very often a queue of bikes at the bottom, as riders struggled to pull away at the start of the section.

Some of my T2T group struggled there this year, as Neil and Russell will confirm!

Great fun but can be challenging. My boy had no trouble getting his Derbi Senda 50 up the hill much to the embarrasment of a visitor from Yorkshire whose knobbly clad 450cc orange steed spat him off time after time until we took pity on him and went around. Got to admire the Torbay Trial competitors getting cars up without needing the winch.
