Tree down on Alston Wash 202-248 GRMUID 5761 - Start, Slapton area

Lets see if this one can be concluded as quick as the last one!

A report via GRM of a tree down, measuring about 1 metre across, not the one that's been in the swamp section a while.

Neil, where abouts exactly is this? On the way down (heading west to east), or the way up the switch-backs towards Alston, or by the boggy/ muddy bit at the bottom?
Is it passable? One of the pics - where it's snapped at the base of the trunk or lifted the root-ball - looks like you could ride around the back of it?

At the bottom just before the muddy bit heading towards Alston.

Easily passable riding up on the hedge and around the trunk then dropping back down into the lane again.

Obviously large bike could be risky with not alot of space on the hedge.

Presume it's been like it for a while with a lot of tyre tracks.

Really needs sorting otherwise tyres are likely to cut a path through the hedge allowing the stream in field on the other side to change coarse into the lane.

Hurt my back at moment so out of action.

Would not put any chainsaw into that wood, full of stone I bet. Wacky's winch could easily pull that to one side.
