201 034/035 lumburn

Highways have been attending 201/035.

There was a 20260709_203454[1].jpgsteep drop over a pipe when entering 201035 from the top. It was exciting riding but has now been replaced with a concrete slope. Makes it more manageable for the less experienced.

A reminder for those unfamiliar with the lane that 201-035 is best ridden downhill west to east as the the top junction onto the A390 is blind and traffic is moving fast around a corner with almost zero visibility of the lane on approach

Thanks for the information and photo Mike, I'll add that to GRM (5477)

As Pete says, recommended to ride 034 (5476) then 035 (5477) downhill (W to E) because of the very limited view on exit of 035 (5477) onto the A390 if ridden westwards (uphill).

It seems not everyone is happy with the councils work!

I recall an angry man who accosted me on a lane asking 'what does it take to stop you lot?'

My answer 'tarmac'

Ha ha biggrin

Maybe it was he who 'arranged' for the tarmac (well, concrete on this occasion) to try and stop you

Several years ago I joined some of my Welsh friends for the day on my local part of the GWT/ James Higgs Trail that they were riding. As I was leading I took them UP this section on the trail (E to W). It was certainly a challenge on the T7 ...... and yes, a very nasty exit onto the main road. We had a spotter but still, very risky.
