Normal for this time of year Ian, happens every year.

Most find it too hot to ride in summer and as a consequence lanes grow over.

Autumn will see temps drop along with the leaves and trail riding will be a thing again.

I looked like I had been in a bad accident after my last ride although I did not fall off brambles/gorse cut my legs and arms badly so another route added to the seasonal list.

Not going to fight nature as I already have a full time job.

Yeh I've had a full time job in the last 20 yrs of lane clearing Pete, if you want to dream about vegetation receding thats up to you, what happens when the hedges join in the middle??

That'll be another green road someone can't use confuse

As I've been in the horticultural industry for the last 45yrs you might get stingers retreat & ferns, you won't see thicker hedging material decrease in size in fact as the branches get longer they will get heavier and drop lower hmm

The only reason you can ride half of the Bridleways on a mountain bike is because of the Devon county contractors or those very nice volunteers getting out there under the parish paths banner clearing rights of way wink

We have had these conversations on here and in private, the public factors are against us. 1. Very few new bike riders 2. Bike sales are down more so for enduro and trail bikes cost of living, fuel prices need I go on. 3. Public perception "not my problem" 4 Misuse of public funds, repairing roads that do not need it !!

As we get older not all of us are as strong as we were, take the lane we cleared near swimbridge we did not that long ago, took me days to recover from that !!

 Yup we sure have!

I was just highlighting what needed doing on the network

Far too many excuses thats the problem, yes I was aching after Swimbridge mate, just think if there was a relief crew that could have done the afternoon shift?? There are solutions wink

Too much negativity I'm afraid no
