Devon Lane Challenge Tour, 7 Maps, 10 lanes in each, 48 Hours June 18 - 20

I'm planning to do a weekend tour around Devon in June. I'll be taking my own tent and sleeping bag (only weigh 3kg) and intend to eat brekky at campsite, lunch on the hoof and tea at the pub next to campsite, so not too much to carry. Both campsites will be next to pubs to get maximum refreshment from the days ridingbeer.gif
index_enduro[1].jpg

What I would like to do is try and do 10 lanes in each map of Devon, which doesn't sound a lot (Approx 90 lanes) but will involve a fair bit of mileage and good route planning.

If anyone is interested let me know, as I'll be doing this tour whether it be on my own or with company. Max 8 riders. Please only pm me if interested, as I only intend to go with like mind souls like myselfwink

Great idea Harty. Wouldn't mind meeting up in the afternoon or something for a drink one night if you and the others are around my way.

Dan, it'll be either 11 - 13 June or 18 - 20 June, myself and Rich have commitments on the first weekend of June and the 26 June is the shared knowledge.

Pearcy, I'll be down tomorrow to share your tent with you until this tour weekend startswink

That's my problem too but Gruff's going and has a similar bike so I'm waiting to see how he get around this.biggrin

I've got no doubt if you kit is small enough you should be able to strap it to the seat somehow.

I can see the future, and it looks like plenty of fly kit around the green lanes of Devon.wink

Just go light:

1.Bivy bag with sleeping bag in it
2.Poncho for overhead cover, use bike as support
3. Metal mug for cooking and drinking
4. Peak stove uses any liquid fuel ie pertol from bike
5. Food and water

That's all I'm taking as well Doug, I don't think we'll need 6 stoves though, so perhaps a bit of kit sharing. These guys do this kind of thing on a regular basis http://www.geamcc.com/id6.html they also provide a kit list of things they advise to take.

Have been doing a little tinkering and thought that to save getting threads clogged up with all our info I'd create a seperate area to plan our weekend run

http://devontrailadventurists.activeboard.com/

Please note that this forum has only been created for the planning our our trip, also so that all posts won't get members jealouswink Once the trip has been completed a full run report an d pics will be posted on the DTRF forum. It'll be good to see Pearcy tring to get up Simms loaded to the hilt and with a can of Guinness in one handbiggrin

Once we get firm names and dates a get together would be in order, but fairly soon.

I was honoured by a visit from the 4 on their way to the overnight camp. So far all the racks and bags seemed to have stayed on the bikes but I don't know what this bit of kit was that Harty was packing confuse

He said it was for beard trimming but not whose wink

Pearcy's yellow DRZ E was looking very good despite all rumours to the contrary... and StevePT's rack looked the dogs bollerix smile

Sounds like they are gonna have fun - here they go - L to R - StevePT, Harty, Pearcy and Gruff:
