10-60?

Went out to Tremletts today to get a new tube for the back tyre (£16.00 fitted!) and while I was out there thought I'd stock up on consumables for the bikes as I like to have oil and filters 'in stock' as it were.

Couldn't remember what oil the Husky takes so I asked John and he said Huskys take 10-60 so I took his word for it and checked the manual when we got home and guess what, he was completely correct as usual.

Only thing was, it cost £52 for 4 litres!

Never heard of a bike running 10-60 before, any other bikes out there that do?

p.s. Bought some handguards and a mirror, 2 oil filters and oil for the CCM and walked out (even with a generous discount) £152 lighterno

I take it you won't be doing an oil change every 10 hours!

Stick religously to every 500 miles on everything, it makes it really easy to know when it's due! Anyway, the kind of gentle bimbling I do I could probably change it every three thousand miles and it'd be fine!

It is Silcolene, but I don't know what fancy name it's got. Chuffing dear stuff, the good old XT runs on Morrisons own brand 20/50 at £4.99 a gallon!

Mind you, the XT also does its own oil changes so that really is a bloody good bike!

To be honest seeing you are not racing it putting 10/60 in it is a waste of money, i ran my TE510 on Morris Race 4TT Fully Synth 10/40, £33.00 for 4Ltr.

We used 10w/40 in the Husky TE250 in Spain with no probs and that was ridden harder and hotter than it would in the UK.
