Right anyone got any idea's what could be causing my problem....

When riding the Xr 400 at around 40/50kmh on the road its front wheels feels like an egg is inside the tyre??hmmconfuse

Ive checked it when off the ground and its as you would expect a tyre to be.

Anything lower of higher speed than the 40/50 its fine again, it does it under power or when letting the bike just roll..

So any help appreciated, ive checked the wheel bearing and its slighly playing a bit but such a small mount i cant see it being that. Im going to change them anyway but wondered what the general thought was for this.

Ill await the responses of the wise among the TRF.wink

smileI would imagine your front wheel is out of balance probably due to having a security bolt for the front tyre common thing on those xr's.

 also check the tyre is seated properly all the way around the rim on both sides or otherwise you have an egg inside your tyre/tube wink

take it apart and see if there is anything obvious to see   smile

keep us updated on the progress feathers

Although it makes it a pain when changing tyres, it helps balance if the rim lock is opposite the valve ...................

Assuming you have not let your tyre pressure drop so low that you are feeling the rimlock going round.
Have you used a puncure repair sealant spray can because the stuff can pool at the bottom of the tyre and set in a lump?This unbalances the wheel which enhances the egg in the tyre feel the lump causes.
If not and the tyre is properly seated on the rim then the rim lock is probably to blame,
because if your wheel were buckled enough to give such symptoms you should be able to see it quite easily.
Replacing a part worn tyre in a different place on the rim after a puncture could accentuate imbalance,particularly where the rimlock has previously gripped the tyre it will want to sit differently from the area around it.
If you don't find anything obvious when you take it apart then try getting the wheel balanced.

Is this common or does it only happen through lack off use?

I have just bought some Goop from Albion and not sure if I should use it.

You can get stuff that is designed to sit in the tyre waiting for a puncture.It stays liquid and spreads evenly as the wheel spins.There is a barely noticeable imbalance when first setting off which dissipates within a few hundred yards.This kind of product is ok up to 150mph.

When I found a nail stuck through my triumph rear tyre less than a week after spending well over £200 on rubber I used this stuff.
Very simple to use
Deflate tyre with nail still in place
Remove valve and pour stuff in
Reflate tyre and go for a couple of miles ride
Stop at roadside,say prayer and remove 2 inch nail with pliars
Ride several more miles straight away
Only lost 2psi on removing the nail and has lost nothing since
I have never noticed any imbalance on starting off

The spray can stuff is different
Get you home latex rubber in an aerosol tin like finnilec is only good for 40mph reccommended max speed,and is intended to be discarded on arrival.If evenly spread it won't unbalance the wheel(something like a fifteen minute ride is suggested),but a short journey after a puncture followed by the bike standing would obviously lead to an eneven distribution of a product designed to cure in contact with air.This is a get you home thing not a fix and could easily lead to an egg in the tyre feel.
Having said that when used according to the instructions it would not only get you home but also keep the tyre round till it wore out.
Try to use it for too large a hole and your bike will be covered in a a very sticky latex goo as well as your parking place and anything else nearby.
