Well said Hammy!

My gafferer in plymouth texted, he has got his middle managment Mondeo type car stuck trying to get out from his average semi-detatched housing estate.

So therefore it is  GAME ON !biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Now then -  MT43 back wheel or Knobbly wheel ?

I can vouch how rubbish the Mondeo is on the snow, yet another day "working from home" - Best lower the pressures in the rear tyre then.wink

There is a good 8" in Crediton on top of the 4" from Friday night so nothing much moving at the minute. Don't know what the Exeter Rd is like because I can't get to it.

Its unheard off there is 5 inches of snow (Please note I use proper measurements not the stuff Europe foisted on us) outside Duckys on Beer Beach.  A couple of the fishermen who have worked the beach all their lives, have never seen it so deep on the beach, and its right down to the waters edge.

Beer Street 5 to 6 inches outside Woozies pasty emporium, and there is nothing moving

Left Torquay this morning at 4:15am when it was just raining.

Got to just past Ten Tors junction of Kingsteignton and the sleet rapidly turned to snow. Only just made the climb to Gappah and then had an horrific hour spent trying to get down and up Ideford Dip. Got stuck behind a car that was then abandoned within 100 yards of Ashcombe Cross. Had to wait 10 mins for a gritter to REVERSE down the carriageway and come back up again - got out into his path and just made it to the junction where he turned off! Then had 2 miles of blizzards to top of Telegraph Hill without being able to see a damn thing in about 6 inches of snow. Trickled down in 1st gear and still nearly lost it a few times.

Finally got into work at 6:20am only to be told that nobody was going to be working todayfuriousfurious

Main roads back to Torbay now closed so am marooned on Sowton.

Ask me how happy I am.......disbeliefdisbeliefdisbelief

Wish I'd put the CRF in the back of the van - at least I could have had a laugh in the 10 inches of snow on Sowton!

a few from this morning smile.gif

main road still untouched and impassable apart from 4x4 with proper tyres.

the fresh snow is lovely to ride on but the compacted stuff is lethal.

last one is high street at midday.

One, two & four are in my garden, the rest are the back roads around Newton St Cyres.
Roads are deserted once you are off the A377. Great fun! Certainly better than working!winkbiggrin

Opted for the knobbly headed off up toward Dunsford from long down 191 059, excellent fun.

I can confirm the KTM loves the snow.

I rode down to Ashburton from my house at 11.00 this morning, to do a little panic buying (Can't get my van to the main road, so no work for me). And yes Snafu, MT43 rear tyers are not good in snow. I did OK until I had to get back up my lane. I had to drag the bike up with the back wheel-a-spinin' !

On the way down to the shops on the A38, I slotted in behind a geezer on an XT600 Paris Dakar with the worlds biggest rucksack on his back. He was all over the place, but he made it into Ashburton (well done that man)

This is me outside the house after sweating 15 litres dragging the bike up the hill to my pad........

There was no milk, bread or spuds left in the shops , but thank god the wine and spirits were not all gone party.gif

I'm so tempted to fit my nice new knobbly and have a proper go in the snow biggrin

Fantastic pics folks - keep 'em coming smile

No vehicular bravery here! Instead I went walkys with Mrs TTR to explore the "not yet opened" Exe Cycleway extension from Exton to Dart's Farm.

This is the bit (between the pink arrows) to open soon after which it should be possible to cycle pretty much offroad all the way from Exmouth to Topsham.

A huge amount of work has been done and I can now understand why it has all taken so long!

Saw this bloke on the way home - now who does he remind me of???

Cheers fella - but got home after another 2 and half hour ordeal. Waited until traffic cameras showed Telegraph Hill open then went for it......only by the time I got there 10 mins later they closed ithmm
Had to go via A38 and Drum Bridges........but then another lorry jack knifed and we spent a good 40 mins doing nowt, so in best courier fashion I did a u-turn and went down the A38 to Buckfastleigh and home that way.

Now got to do it all again tomorrow morning at 4am.......

Or it could be big pictures doing it or have you got yer screen maximized?

Tigerman's picture are side by side and force the page too wide. If you have a large enough screen you won't notice it. If not the the page will scroll to the side to match the picture width.

Update: Ignore that, Tigerman's photos wrap so it's not that.
