Got back from Oxfordshire tonight but couldn't make the final 500 yards to where I live, so had to get my neighbour farmer to tow me into my drive. Couldn't believe how deep the snow was, across my drive was a 3 foot snow drift. Am now def snowed in for Xmas, so getting the TTR out tomorrow for a food shop. Some right arsehole HGV drivers on the M5 tonight!!

No fresh stuff overnight and quite mild today - even power washed the TTR from the outside tap
Cleared the snow from the drive, put two concrete blocks in the boot of the Jag and sent Mrs TTR out shopping
Had a post delivery and posty said he had only got stuck twice but they had to get rid of some of it as it had backed up so much. Wasn't impressed with his front wheel drive with all the weight in the back!
Amazon Christmas present apparently sent by courier on 15th December not arrived yet

Well....that's what happens when Amazon pay peanuts for the delivery service
DHL briefly had the contract and lost it to the Post Office I believe......
The package arrived at the HDNL depot at 7.15am this morning but I guess they are a tad busy..........
Seems like Hamster missed the Waitrose runaway lorry action in Newton Popp today.
TTR - if Amazon are using the same service as when they were with us, it will be a 72 hour delivery window......that's if things go to plan
Thing is, they have around 2000 parcels left on the floor every day as they can't cope in normal conditions. Add the Xmas rush and heavy snow to the mix and you may find it won't get to you in time for the big day.
My tip (and don't tell anyone I said this) is to ring the depot and ask when it will be delivered as you need it for a present for someone visiting Thursday. If they can't promise to send it out you may have no choice but to go to the depot yourself to collect it.

Good tip Andy - rang the Heathfield depot and the nice lady printed out the paper work and the parcel was delivered the following day
ditto that kev, i'm in the same profession as you and the snow and ice was fun for a while but soon get on my nerves when i was stuck at home listening to the misses moaning!
Loved it.....turned each normal boring routine day into an adventure for me......
And being a 4x4 driver and having ecomentalists spit at me all year it was really nice to be able to drive about spitting at them as they lay freezing in the road
