Battery booster

Typical - I didn't need one at the time and am now looking for a good deal on one cry

Maplin do one at £49,99 but it's mail order - see http://www.maplin.co.uk/5-in-1-jumpstarter-with-digital-air-compressor-388125 Looks like it has some nice features and has a 17Ah battery

Toolstation have one in stock at £42.13 but seems to have less functionality than the Maplins one and has a 12Ah battery. - http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Automotive/Starters+Chargers/Power+Station+Jump+Starter+Compressor/d60/sd3219/p91757

The cheapest I found was via Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Am-Tech-Portable-Compressor-Improved-Battery/dp/B0036N8Y8I/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_0 - but the feedback was terrible so will leave that alone methinks.

Anyone able to give a personal recommendation or know of a good deal in the Exeter area please?

You are a total star jt - have ordered two of the B versions in the hope that one at least will be 100%. In effect its a BOGOF!

If they are both OK then I can carry one with me in the car and leave the other at home biggrin

Just the job wink

I know I have said it before (several times) but this forum is filled with totally brilliant folk!

RE: Battery booster - how to know when charged?

Can anyone intrpret the 3 lights for me please?

You press a button to check the state of the internal battery- the 3 lights are low - medium-high.

After about 36 hours of charging the lights didn't change on either of the two boosters. The Low light is a bright yellow and the other two glow green. I assumed this meant fully charged but one booster turned the Jag over slowly - not fast enough to start  it and the other only just lit up the boot light confuse

My guess is that these machines are all made by the same factory and just slotted into different carcases so hopefully someone will have another model can say how the lights work on theirs wink
