Minimum age for the TRF?

Have an over-enthusiastic Son who turns 16 this month.  Is there a min age requirement to join the TRF???

My lads 16 in Aug and is now looking for a bike to come out on.....so he will have company later in the year wink

I have for some time been cosidering doing a 50 cc run (or maybe an upto 125cc) to see what interest there is.

Make sure they bring a letter from their parents first you don't want them banging on your door saying.
"What have you done to my sons bike its only a week old"

Taking unsupervised under 18's on a run is a whole different ball game .................

but both of these budding members will be accompanied by existing members so thats easy life wink i love it when the kids start showing off and are better than the parents in a fortnight biggrin

At least with a bit of practice they bounce better than some of the more experienced members

God help us however when Pearcy's lad wants to start riding

I have ridden with Pearcy, Doug, Gruff, Phil, Cubber, Bob......etc etc.........

 

Now having teenage kids and seeing thier mates come round etc etc I can assure you that none of them.....none.....act any different to any unsupervised teenager I have ever encountered disbeliefno so don't see any difference to any normal run wink

JT I remember you mentioning that your Son is 16 this year.  Let me know when your organise a 'youth' ride as mine would love to tag along.  Watching him pull a wheely up my garden on my WR makes me feel he'll surpass my riding within a matter of days.  Not that thats such a tall order!!

JT - just to see if Suzy's son can match his Mum, we should put him on a trip up 192-175 and see if he can get through to the end.

I think Andy Petherick's daughter does them all on an old DT50. I still remember that kid on a Derbi 50 going around Whiteway Barton

50cc is plenty to have fun in the lanes and the derbi 50 went round whiteway for 5 laps nonstop on its first outing, and earned a lot of respect one day out on the south hams lanes while making a ktm450 pilot look rather daft too.
He will be pleased someone remembers whiteway

his current supermoto dt125r goes like stink and is way too tall for me with the rear end jack up kit he made at college but lacks trail tyres or I would be doing novice runs.
