I noticed today while riding my Triumph Scrambler on the lanes that the low height and the low centre of gravity made the bike quite easy to manage when compared to my DRZ. But the Triumphs main disadvantage was the weight and fragile pokey out bits.
Don't get me wrong the DRZ is a great tool and will go over pretty much anything, but my only complaint is the saddle height.
So this throws up a few questions for me;
Why do modern trail / dirt/ MX bikes need so much ground clearance? Is it just the fashion?
Wouldn't a lower and lighter bike (like and old twinshock Triumph or similar ) be more suited to our purposes on the lanes?
Is their a modern (parts available etc) bike thats like this?
