Possible help req for James May next weekend - get yourself on the telly?

Guys N Gals,

Will keep this brief - see here to start

So through my job I am involved in this and will be going up with a team next weekend to assist, and having spoken to the organisers earlier there may be a requirement for runners/wardens/couriers riding between Barnstaple and Bidiford dropping in along the track at various points.

Now at this stage I don't have a clue if we help is required, it just came out in a conversation earlier that I thought we (the DTRF) 'may' be able to provide assistance and I won't know for sure till Monday but I thought I post to see who, how many may be interested If I get asked....

Devon CC are involved and I just thought it may be a good bit of PR for us, and good fun to boot......

What are your thoughts chaps?

The BBC presenter will be teaming up with wine expert Oz Clarke competing against a team of German miniature railway enthusiasts in a railway race on Saturday, April 16.

Germins!  Be careful this could be another cunning wheeze for an invasion!  Have you ever tried goosestepping in MX boots?

James May is a biker but it is along way from here to there so no.  Now if it was the adulterous cheating fag smoking Clarkson that might be quite a laugh.....

No matter how you may feel about James May, Top Gear, BBC, etc. this could well be an opportunity for DTRF to gain the amount of positive mainstream exposure we could never buy in a million years. So, if this is the chance to fly our flag where decision makers will see it then those who can should heed the rallying call.

Cheers,

John

Many thanks for the support John - thats why I asked, I could see the opportunity.

If you would be willing to help then please post.

I'm sorry for the short notice but there have been 'changes' - as i said I will find out more tomorrow. It may come to nothing but I just wanted to see how many could/would assist if required.

Oh By the way His Mate Oz Clark will the there as well - that make it better or worse wink

Finally JC - I may not like everything he says but do like the fact he's not afraid to say it smile

Sorry, I should have said, of course I'll help but when is it? I'm away quite a bit over the coming weeks but if I'm here and needed then I'll help with pleasure.

Cheers,

John

Cheers,

John

Thanks very much to those that responded and offered to help - looks like they have it covered now with a load of free loaned golf buggys hmm (rather have ridden the Tarka trail on my bike)

I have told them that we have 4-5 offers of help and if anything changes I'll post back.

Had another plan for some PR/relation building with DCC and the Police  but after the lack of interest in this I'm not going to bother cry

I don't think it was a lack of interest, just a clash with an event.

If it wasn't the STRF day then I am sure you would've had more response, well, definately one more.wink
