Feeling that the Royal wedding really wasn't my cup of tea, I jumped onto a trip arranged by a friend and spent that weekend Green Laning around Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. The riding wasn't as challenging as our DTRF trip to mid Wales of a year ago due to the dry conditions but the scenery, the company and the experience was well worth the 5hrs it too to get there! Riding all day Fri, kipped in a bunk-house in the wilderness on the Friday night - the owner cooked us a hot meal then drove us all down to the local pub, left us there till closing and took us back, he then cooked up a full fry-up in the morning before we went on our way for another full days riding.
Here's some pics and a little vid of our escapades.
Note: If you're wondering why the video is branded, 'Adventure Motorcycle Holidays' it's cos the guy who led us is setting up this compnany who will offer such tours and he wanted me to produce something he could use for promotional material.
I guess you mean costs of a led trip and acommodation from the guy who runs the company - A.M.C.H - when he form it!!! (namely the guy who led us) Well, he did ask what we - the Plymouth contingent of the crew he led around - 'thought' would be a fair price / what we'd be prepared to pay for such a trip; which would be accomodation at the local pub the night before day 1's ride, riding all day 1 (was about 100 miles), accomodation in the bunk house night 2 (inc. dinner and cooked brekkie), riding all day 2 (approx 80 miles), finally accomodation back at the same local pub for the final night before driving home the next day. Well, lets just say, he was well below what we thought would be a fair price!!

Here's a few more snaps from the weekend.................weather was stunning but a drop of rain could have made it a bit more interesting.....
Final preparations....
We stopped at a bikers cafe called 'Ponderosa', it was obviously on a pretty good road for the sportsbikers, plenty of them out and about.
Just down the road from the cafe....
The road disappears into the distance,
we'd just rode along this valley to the high point where we met a few landys out for a spin.
Another one of the fab views while taking a short stop......
Tree down, decided that we didn't fancy carrying Andy's F650 over it so went around another track, very dusty, reminded me of my trip to Spain last year!
Bit of greenery
After hitting a large 'puddle' a little quickly Andy's f650 lost the screen, he had a taster of what a wet weekend in Wales wouldv'e been like riding a big traillie when we passed through Clocaenog forest. Got to say I was impressed with it though, did everything we did and rode it back to London afterwards......minus the screen!
The trails in the Clocaenog forest were brilliant fun; real mushy, deep peaty tracks/ruts. I was gutted my GoPro had run out of juice :( Well done to Jonsey for muscling his Beemer F650 through all that. He did comment that to watch me hopping from rut to rut he was well impressed with the KTM, I had to remind him it was more rider skill then bike! ;)
There are some very challenging lanes in the area if required but i would guess the guide stayed away from them with a 650 in the group i remember 1 lane taking 3 hours to cover 2.5 miles!!!
I should have been riding there this weekend but events have conspired against me
