nick the exc is expensive and keep there price ive converted a couple of sx same gear box engine front pipe ,what you could do is buy the newer sx ? change gearing long fmf Q silencer poss fit side stand now you have three option 1/ fit lighting coil acts like a flywheel magnets slow engine down a tad 2/ flywheel ? 3/ dont bother the motors are placid after gearing has been altered to exc ? exc share same sus same tank same engine gearbox 6speed that bits important as none of the 125 from japan have 6 gears the yam motor is near identical but still a 5speed shame, well ktm125sx a day time mot reg tax and he is away for alot less than a older exc ? fmf £125.00 /price side stand ? ktm headlamp ? rear fender lamp £25.00 lost 14 tooth front sprocket £10
update i have reaqainted myself with my little katoom req ? £775.00 its a SX 125 model 05 with the rattray frame ive a exc silencer fitted and same gearing exc , im in the process of replacing the worn piston with a two ring exc piston it has a go faster reed block and now a 18in rear wheel ? ktm headlamp and a enduro rear [no lighting coil ] at present ?or side stand but they willl just bolt on ? its not for sale but if the lad wants to come down and have ago let me know, if you go down this rout i can help nick
