Turkish trail - part two..

The smell of pine needles and wild garlic assaulted my sense of smell. The noise of the big KTM's assaulted my eardrums. The view before me was absouloutly stunning!

It could only mean another day out on the trails with Taurus Trax was taking place.

As we  thundered up the mountain trail  swooping alongside each other in formation I knew this was trail riding paradise.

If Carlsberg did Trail  Riding days, then these would be them.

I will be back again in the future. smile   Anyone interested?

Got some video footage, which I will try to upload when I get home if anyone is interested in seeing more of Turkey?

Looks like fun.  Do they have any mud over there?

Yep, it gets muddy in the winter. Snow as well if you go high enough!!

Looks great Paul - very envious, and given a year or so I may well be interested. Have been thinking of Portugal for a while (relatives out there) but have never been to Turkey and it looks a bit more 'vairied' and green in your pic's.

The terrain variety in Turkey is immense JT. Also you can ride almost anywhere. Very few restrictions. The Guide has lived in Turkey for several years now and has lead tours all over. For example Antalya to Marmaris, this is several hundred miles and he has done it just by following a compass bearing. Hardly using any tarmac roads.

The seasons obviously affect the trails like here. The winter is better in my opinion for riding. Still bright skys most days, but the temperature is   a pleasant 10-20c unless you are at high altitude.

He could take us out on different trails every day for a week starting off from the  same base! 6-8 hours riding a day no problem! Whatever the group wanted.

I am going back with my Wife sometime in the next year, but would'nt mind organising a group of us in the" next year or so" for a weeks solid trail riding if there is enough interest?

They can organise all the gear/bikes, transfer from airport and accomodation. The more people the cheaper the price.

Obviously flights are on top, but I have visited Turkey reguarly for several years. So have had a fair bit of practice sussing out the cheap flights !!
