The runs for tomorrow are sorted, thanks run leaders and the local members who are coming along, time to show those rock hard northerners what granite tastes like eh?
Seems like we have quite a crowd coming to the Dolphin for a pie & a pint tomorrow, (sat) evening, so come on down, at least for a pint if your free!
Assuming you lot are in this fellowship for more than just the ride outs, i.e. keeping the nations road network open for all, then we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on sunday.
Out the almost 3000 national members, Devon has the biggest and best (i think) TRF group, the national exec officers use Devon as a excellent example of a good, productive group. We have the chance on Sunday to show them face to face the way forward.
Please try and drag yourselves down to The Dolphin and spare a few hours on sunday from 10.30, Thank you!

Sorry not to have got along but Mrs TTR required my presence at a BBQ here on Saturday.
As if to pay her back, she contracted a viral cough thing and we spent a happy Sunday morning at the RD&E followed by me putting on my best carer's uniform for the rest of the day which put paid to my plans on going down to the Exec to catch up with some old buddies
More to follow in the newsletter but for now THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all those who gave a little time over the weekend
Pete, Dave and me ran 3 runs which were a big hit. Pete had few mechanical issues towards the end of the day, so Gregg along with Kwaka Geoff took over and entertained our guests from south yorks & Peaks; they were well and truly shattered but beaming.
My run met up with Daves run around Buckfast, is seems Dave was having a few issues with Fred Ellison who ran out of fuel after only a couple of mile whoops! I had a cracking day and managed to cut and chop the planned run to include a few extra sets of lanes, (so come on new run leaders, it can be done), also managed to get Keith the Salisbury plains Guru Dobson on my run a repay him a little for the times hes taken me and Noel out over the plains.
Sundays meeting was a success and Devon have set the bar high for future groups to follow, thanks very to the 15 or so Devon members who turned up throughout the day.
Debbie received this tonight;
On behalf of Jack, Mac and myself, would you please pass on our thanks to you all for a most enjoyable and hospitable weekend. You really do have some wonderful lanes and scenery as well as a very warm welcome to "us northerners". I hope that we can return the favour when the Exec meeting comes around to us.
In the meantime, there is an open invitation to any of the Devon members to come and join us in the Peak District and see what all the fuss is about. If you would like to circulate this email address as a point of contact and we'll take it from there.
We would all like to see Pete's video footage and it would be great to be able to show it at our group meeting tomorrow night if at all possible.
Many thanks again.
Kind regards,
Philip Secretary Derbyshire & South Yorkshire Group
