KTM 450 EXC OR KTM 450 EXC RACING

Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the difference between a KTM 450 EXC RACING and a KTM 450 EXC? My insurance company wont cover me for the EXC but will for a Racing, very confusing.

Not heard of a 450 exc racing...

Best guess would be the edition of that model, only heard of Six Days or Champions Edition though...

Can't they get the exact model from your registration number?

There is no difference......

Same confusion with my 250 EXC - seem to have different names in different markets - could be they think the plain EXC is an import.

I think that could be the case, I've just been on the phone and insured it as the 450 exc racing, don't know where I will stand if I have to make a claim. You know how bad these insurance companies are at suirming thier way out of pay outs due to details in the small print. Thanks for the replies much appreciated.

2004 model? If so, they only list the EXC-R for that year, and most likely the same for other years!

Thanks Lost, As it now turns out I have bought the racing model assuming it was the stock model, I have the black rims, front axle puller & the R after EXC, you have made my day .

I was aware of the factory and the six day's versions and just assumed that what I was looking at was the stock version.

I'm not sure if there is a "Racing" model or not, I thought it was just a KTM slogan. My road jacket has KTM Racing on it and so does my baseball cap.
