MAG protest Sunday 25th Sept 2011

Just seen this on the Cornshire TRF forum in case anyone is interested in tagging along with their dirtbike:

The demo is about the new proposed EU legislation, which will basically not let you do any of your own mainenance or mods to your bike plus other stupid rules and regs.

MAG have organized a mass demo run starting from lee mill in Plumouth and riding up the A38 at between 40=48 mph.

The Run starts at 12noon on Sunday.

Yep, me and Kev Red will be at Exeter Services at 12.00pm. Nick Scofield is leaving from Honiton and going to Exeter as well. Sam Manicom will be there as well. Got to support this me thinks. Tigerman is also doing it.

Me and a few mates are doing the Podimore one on the A303 near Sparkford. Any one else likely to be up this way?

Already posted here.  I'm planning on going although had it in my mind it was yesterday and was sat at the services all on me lonesome!  disbelief  Still, the weather was nice and it was an excuse for an outing.  See you there later, hope it stops blimmin' raining furious

Just saw this on the M5 through Somerset, well impressive, must have been 500 bikes going southbound!

Fair play to them

That was awesome! Josh, I recon we had the same amount if not more heading north from Exeter.  The Police even beckoned us through some red lights, but not the ones at the junction joining the M5 so our group got split.  No problem tho, me and Harty then led the second group up the M5 for a fair while until we caught the others.

It was mad - did around 40mph up the M5 in lanes 1 and 2 and it was really good natured from what I could see - people in cars waving, people on bridges waving and taking pics, then we saw the southbound group coming the other way.  We finished at Tiverton services, which got a bit overwhelmed with bikes wink

Every type of bike was there - adventure style bikes, dirt bikes, sports bikes, road bikes, cruisers, tourers, you name it.  Hopefully the message will get out to the authorities that the UK biking community - and the wider EU biking community - won't take these proposals lying down.

Nice to catch up with Harty again too smile

Although I couldn't join in on a bike, I was there to see them off and film them:

Nice one Big T, saw you stood there filming although didn't realise it was you.  Harty can be seen centre-of-the-screen-ish @ 2:12 (black BMW) followed by me @ 2:17 (blue Triumph Sprint).

RE: MAG protest Sunday 25th Sept 2011

We had about 200-300 bikes at Podimore on the A303. Headed down the dual carriage way to South Petherton roundabout and back to Podimore. Only blocked the one lane so not much in the way of a hinderance to the traffic. But all good natured and the weather was excellent. Hopefully point made.
