Vacuum Cleaners

Our Dyson vacuum cleaner has just had a terminal blow up.They are good but dont seem to last long. I have bought Dysons in the past as we have two dogs two cats and lots of pet hair to clean up, does anyone have experience of other makes of vacuum cleaner that are long lasting and do a good job with pet hair.Nothing to do with motorcycles I know but Mrs Matt t  needs to buy a good quality vacuum cleaner for me to use!

Numatic vacuums are very good and last years and as Lath mentioned Henry,  Numatic also make those . Being a chimney sweep, I need a decent vacuum, so 90 % of sweeps have a Numatic. They have a huge choice and probably do one for pet owners http://www.numatic.co.uk/

I don't mind showing my feminine side now and again so here we go, just ordered a new motor from amazon last night for our second dyson in five years this one is only two years old and has already had new brushes, have told the wife I wont be buying another one. Use Henry's at work on site and they're great not sure the wife would appreciate me bringing it home thoughsmile

My vote is for Sebo.

Not cheap but very very good and never been any trouble. My first Dyson just died last year after 14 years! The plastic just went brittle.

Our last Dyson packed up, I can fix anything..hmmm.

Took it apart, tricky. Put it back together again, even more tricky. lots of WD40 to clean the motor, nice.  Started it, WD40 caught fire, Dyson melted and I had to buy a new one anyway!!

20 year old Henry in my workshop, still going strong. Numatic who make them are in Chard so if you do need spares no problem My wife bought a Hoover again after several years of dysons, I took the wreckage of the last two to the tip at the tip, got one left to throw out, good riddance nothing but trouble

Thank you ffor all the advice, we are now the proud owners of a Harry vacuum cleaner, which is basically a Henry with a few extras to deal with dog hair.

Bought it from these people based in Sherborne ,Dorset
