Optical Express say it's dependant on what needs to be done, starts at £395 per eye, bet no one gets them done for that
Optimax have an offer on at the moment, usual price is around the same as EES but have an offer on until the end of the month of up to half price.
The op needed would therefore cost £2195, for both eyes.
I appreciate what you mean Bri but both OE & Optimax have both good & bad reviews, as with any topic, open it up to the masses & you get masses of opinions
This is something I have been thinking about for a while now. Been wearing glasses for driving/riding for about 5 years now, and it's a pain. I am short sighted. Looking at the costs quoted above ........ bloody hell ! Thats half an engine build for the CCM. Maybe if I win the lottery .....

I think you have to registered blind before they would say it isn't really worth while, although they could improve that to half blind. They do not offer garuantees but aim to treat (and retreat if needed) to end up somewhere between +1 and -1 glasses strength, (above or below which driving glasses are needed). My result from one treatment was 0 (perfect) in one eye and -0.5 (slight long sight) in the other starting from a very short sighted +4/+3.5 prior to surgery.
Im pleased for those that have had Lazer eye surgery but yes BUT i have asked myself this Q/ there is diabeties in my family my fathers eye sight suffered as a course ? he had Lazer eye treatment but only allowed to have it done twice ?
Had mine done to cure shortsightedness when I lived in Spain in 2005. Very professional company in Malaga and cost 1100euros for both eyes. That was when exchange rate was 1:50 euros to the pound so about £750.
Was driving next day and the relief of not having steamed up goggles when wearing them over glasses was immense.
Had to have them checked again recently for a different problem and was worried there was a problem with the after effects of the surgery....but the optician said if I hadn't told him about the surgery he couldn't have told that there had been any. But.....he did say some looked like they had been done with a rusty penknife so you're right to be cautious.
Having said all that, I would do it again if I had to without hesitation. Although I would probably be booking a flight to Malaga first.....

I've worn glasses since I was three. What is the problem?
Wearing glasses is like going deaf. You can take your glasses off and you don't have to pay attention to anything. I practice being deaf by just ignoring people if I don't want to listen.
It's nearly 4 months since Theresa's eyes were done & we went down to Newton Abbot this week for her final check up.
The tests were carried out, she could read pretty much everything shown, long & short distance, in fact the optometrist said her eyesight is now "probably better than anyone else of your age".
Although signed off Optimax have a lifetime care guarantee, if necessary she can go back anytime.
She had mono vision done where one eye is set for long vision, one for reading. It sounds like it would make everything a bit weird but she says it really didn't take long to adjust.
Theresa is delighted with her bionic eyes and I just wanted to say here that she really cannot recommend Optimax enough, they've been brilliant every step of the way.
If you're thinking of this, go for it.
BTW, she has money off vouchers if anyones interested
