example for "tyre choice" would be

tyre choice:http://devon trf.activeboard.com

enter the above into google and then the results returned would only be from devon trf forum. Then you can filter by thread age etc.

This can be used with all forums with some modification and is very useful for established forums who's own search facility has become useless.

Here is more info on how to customise your google search but I'm afraid I slipped into a coma while trying to understand it so can't be of any help here.
