How far is the Strata Florida from the Élan valley Russell? I recognise some of the scenery from my Tenere experience weekend last month. Rode around the resoviors and did a really long rocky greenlane by one of them..
Hi Paul nice to meet you at the meeting the other night I was the one who brought Geoff just tried it on MM as the crow flies 19 km from Elan village to Strata Florida approx

Just a few photos and a brief description of our Welsh trip on 6th and 7th.
Brownie and RichT organised the camping and a guide for Saturday and myself (russell11031967) Geoff (Kwakageoff) and Nick (Schooe) just turned up and rode, plus Glen and Lee came up just for the Saturday.
All, apart from Glen and Lee, set off to Wales on Friday afternoon. Myself and Geoff in his van arrived at the campsite, just outside Talgarth, first and set up my tent which I borrowed from Geoff, unloaded the van and the farmer let us store them in his workshop overnight leaving the van free for Geoff to sleep in. We then sat in the back of Geoffs van, as it was raining, with a few tinnys waiting for the others, next Brownie and Nick arrived in Brownies van with Nicks bike inside and Brownies on the trailer. After unloading the bikes and putting up Nicks tent we headed for the pub for a few drinks and pie and chips and then back to the campsite for some sleep, by this time Rich had rolled up and set up camp in his T4.
Saturday we headed off to the breakfast rendezvous where we met Glen and Lee, who were just up for the Saturday ride and Gary our guide. After a good breakfast we went on one of the best days Ive had in Wales and all the lanes where new to me as we were in a slightly different area, a few badgers, not sure who will own up and some fuel issues with Nicks Gas Gas. Wales is obviously smaller than I thought as one of the groups we met out on the lanes included our Devon TRF members, Noel and Victor with Keith, who lead us around Salisbury and the famous Boz amongst others.
Back at the campsite we stripped Nicks carb down to find a sticking float valve, after cleaning it out and hoping it would last out tomorrow we all showered and made our way to Talgarth where the pubs and food available left a bit to be desired so we decided to travel the eight miles or so to Hay on Wye and have an Indian.
Sunday was the Strata route, which is a peoples favourite with about eight river crossings plus plenty of other lanes thrown in and a trip around the reservoirs. I normally do it from Rhayader, but today a different starting point and in the opposite direction and being a Sunday petrol stops could be an issue so most of us carried some spare. Another great day and the Strata was not as high as we had feared. We missed a few lanes at the end of the day as Nick was still experiencing fuel issues. Got back to the campsite and packed away, paid up and were on the road by six.
Had a great weekend, met a few new faces, plenty of food, beer and riding what more could you want?
Thanks again to Brownie for sorting out the Guide and camping, roll on the next one.

Looks like you had a great time, not sure I could do the camping bit at this time of year though! Recognise the locations of most of your photos, just got back from Wales today.
Rode all the usual suspects and a great deal more, a fab few days. Stopped off on the way home for a browse at the Touratech shop where we got to 'talk bikes' with Nick Plumb, nice guy who could've chatted all day long!
