Even though i cancelled my rideout on sunday, i did manage to go on a recce to see what damaged had been done by the water here up east.
I got a third of the way round my normal stockland route and found many new obstructions all of the lanes i rode had changed, johns lane near the the fish farmer Wilmington at river level was in places unrecognisable, at Millhayes i found a tree on the foot bridge 2 meters above the ford. Near waterhouse lane i was met by a 150m length of road which had gone all rocky a new lane indeed
So if you go riding in the east take extra care even if you think you know the lanes, they have changed lots

For the better from our perspective by the sound of it. We may even get some new lanes out of this because it is unlikely there will be sufficient funds available to repair all the damaged roads. Excellent, just need to find some time off work to get out and play....
I did the same as you Doug, it must have been your tyre marks i seen? Couldn't believe the damage done to the roads , in places it was like riding stoney river beds! I nearly got bogged in on that sandy land slip Oh well bring on some more rain ( from a trail riding point of veiw that is)
