WANTED - economical, reliable car preferably 4/5 door

I am delighted to say that our Tim passed his driving test this morning biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

He is now looking to sell his WR125R and buy a small family saloon for his daily work commute between Exeter and Crediton plus occasionally squeeze a few sprogs and their car seats in the back.

I guess it needs to be diesel to get the economy and long service intervals. Above all it needs to be reliable but it would be nice if it was tidy as well wink

Finances are tight (4 kids under 4 years old!!) so anything offered needs to be under £750.

Anything out there please?

Brian

Congratulations to Tim on passing his test.

Now the adventure (and expense) begins. furious

Sorry - I've no advice or recommendation to anything suitable for him.

Good luck. wink

Martyn

Ill be selling my Renault scenic Megane within the next week or so as picking up a van end of the week but it's a 1.6 petrol tho. We had it as a family car but been my work horse for the past few months. It's a 99 I think, I'll check as the reg is a private reg 90k, had 4 tyres aug from skinner head gasket/ cam belt/water pump was done at 80k, recent mid/back box exhaust. And other stuff but I only want £400 for it as the taxs runs out end of the month and only has 6 months mot plus the driver window don't work but good money for what it is plus has a tow bar :) ill put it in the flog it section when I get chance with pics

Thanks for the offer but the insurance was a bit much for Tim.

He has ended up with a Peugeot 206 which seems OK but needs a new fan - noisy motor cry

Insurance was nearly £1,100 even for a 1.4

Just seen he had bought a car, so a little too late.

Didn't know Corsa came as a 1.3 TD?
