cheers, I'm building a kayak paddle, (have found myself without one in all the wrong places,) so don't want the wood warping when I start cutting or when it gets wet.

I always use Southern Timber too although I've never needed to buy hardwoods from them.

Cheers,

+1 ALL ARE JOINERY TIMBER COMES FROM DEVON HARDWOODS, cant imagine you building a paddle from quick grown softwood from southern timberno it will move and warpcry  Southern timber does do certain Hardwoods as well and is obviously close to you but believe me with timber you get what you pay for

Make it out of a nice piece of utilliy or irokosmile

I've used Sothern Timber for more years than I can remember and on highly specified works, they supply a lot more than just a quick grown softwood and certain hardwoods . They've come through everytime for me and I'm sure that Rich has researched what he needs.

Devon Hardwoods is also a good shout, I've used and worked with them in the past.
