No one else ever comments as its not the done thing. But the emount of pm comments is great. Crack on boys. Do what u do. Membership was down last year. Enjoy ya wine old fella.
Dan you are right manners, being polite and tactful is essential - it works both ways - Is Vikings calling Rich an old fella and his mates boys, likely to help?

FFS, just enjoy the forum for what it is, a medium where you can hook up with guys an girls who like riding the bike of their choice, (regardless of colour), where people can ask for a bit of help clearing a lane that can't be done with a tree saw, so all can enjoy.
And if you want to advertise stuff for sale on here, bike related or not, then great - but as this is a local TRF site, maybe only paid up members should be able to post on the flog it section? Just a thought........
Have a read again of RichT4's post from last night, then read it again, as I could not have put it better myself.

Delete my account again pls Debbie.
Joe, if you really want to close your account, then it can be done from the account settings, not saying you should as forums should show a free for all view, as long as it doesn't get personal.
You are right about the importance of events, as they raise the cash to protect the one thing we all need to enjoy our hobby.
Just my humble opinion, and if you don't like it, then that's fine, just drop me a pm and tell me.

I thought I would delete it but had pm's and texts saying dont as it would be a shame. So unless I get banned again I'm here. I'm sorry if I seem to come across like a **** but some of the views on here are so wrong for the future growth of the Trf. I feel like it needs to addressed. ASAP. Total reboot. Need to x2 members to get fresh blood into support the lanes not scare them off with a crap old school attitude.
Well said. That is what grips my ****. I wish I could just leave it alone and forget it but its such a importance that the dtrf is up and running with loads of members and run reports. Mark my words if it doesn't change it will die.
So why is there even a Trf yahoo site? Tell ya what I am off. Balls to it. Keep the money for the Trf fund. Will still pay it every year but I think I've found my calling. Adios. It's been...............? Tedious.

To discuss matters of importance, relevant to DTRF
personally i think its a shame VIKING and JT have deleted there acoounts, both differing opinions, both valid points made, but i like to know members thoughts and debates and general banter on stuff, as long as its not personal or patronising, we all know there are a few who read from the TRF bible and can be padantic to say the least, but the rest of us are here to meet like minded people, have a laugh, ride our bikes, get advice , help and general banter, love the DTRF, CTRF, TVTR sites full of really freindy & helpful people, if im honest i was a bit put out by a few when i started laning in 2008 and the cant do this, cant do that, thats not TRF , advice i welcome , being patronising i didnt, but i just brushed it of as 99% of members are sane normal people ; )
Everybody has there opinion on here that is why it is called an open forum. Many forum users have nothing to do with the trf so dont really know what goes on in the background. Long serving members have worked long and hard in some cases for decades in the background just getting on with the unpaid tasks just so we can enjoy the lanes unhindered.
So to this end please do not take things to seriously on this forum it is just another means of communication, just use it as it was intended = fun.
Anyway enough of this banter got to get in the garage and get ready to do something called bike riding

There are funnier and 'livelier' forums out there. Riding around on dirtbikes and preserving obscure rights of way is a slightly nerdy subject in some ways, so the forum (and the TRF in general) is bound to be a little 'stuffy' in some ways. It also naturally appeals to older riders who have grown out of bragging about their sportsbike prowess, and want a new challenge in motocycling (including me).
So what? I'm happy to be a nerd 'cos I enjoy my hobby and want to keep on doing it, and use the forum (and TRF membership) to help that.
The trouble with forums and internet comment sections is that people often start behaving the way some people (including me sometimes) suddenly behave when plonked behind the wheel or inside a crash helmet, suddenly emboldened by their anonimity. A lot of forum comments (not on this forum, which is usually quite civilised) would get the commentator shunned for being a tit, or thumped, if made face to face. Perhaps they are channeling their inner w###er.
I'm not sure what my conclusion is - perhaps see the forum for what it is, see the TRF for what it is, accept that it is a nerdy subject, a brilliant hobby but not globally significant, and don't spend time shouting comments on forums that you wouldn't have the balls to make face to face. Fortunately this forum is pretty free of that sort of behaviour (perhaps even freer now...) which is why I've started using it.
Getting back to the real subject rather than drifting off topic like we all have done a little:
Snow! Brilliant! Time to go and play like a kid on a BMX.
Doug happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday Doug happy birthday to you have a great ride break a leg ? Perhaps I should not of said that ah yes come home safe and save me some cake as I'm working lost
Could I make a suggestion, before I got into trail riding my main forum I used was BCF, now what they do very well is embrace every biking interest, yes ok there not a user specific place like this BUT we all must have other interests in motorcycling we would like to discuss surely?
But where do we do it?
I'd like to see a section below general trail biking discussion called "other motorcycling discussion?" With perhaps a sub forum for Motorsport?!
I for one have atleast 5 threads I could start if we had an area to discuss!! Give it a trial run??
As someone living 'away from Devon', this is a cracking forum, funny entertaining and lively
Long may it continue in its present vein, you want to see how dull our TRF forum is.........zzzzz
For me it's about the banter, the pee taking and the brill riding, fab ride reports showing all my haunts from way back when I was growing up in Newton Abbot
If I lived back here there are some great runs to go on in all 4 corners of Devon - fab, vibrant community
Hope to get down a bit in 2013 and have a few more rides with you guys
Don't change it, Devon TRF forum is the BEST
