Yeh, the yanks do tend to be more specific in what is classed as a daul sport. Generally it seems to be the more road going versions of a trail bike. The shoot out was just for 250's though so that's why I questioned what offerings KTM or GG had in that cc group.
Well it could well be the best bike iv'e owned (and iv'e had a few!) It puts a smile on my face when on the lanes and an even bigger smile on the tarmac !! Time will tell
Shame Yamaha prices itself out of the market again as it did with the TTR
There is the XT250 as a cheaper alternative, I've ridden a couple of customers bikes and they're on a par with the KLX and WR's that I've ridden. Suitable for the shorter rider as well.
If your going to buy a dual sport bike in Europe then for the money I still think AJP is your best bet as light or even lighter than the oriental machines with a Pualio sus fat bars etc that's what I would part my money on enduro ? the Raigia and gas gas with the WR250 yam engines look good but at more money plus the Hondas crf250x new with 0% finance right now worth alook
Lovely choice of music - The Cure - A Forest - ahh, back in the day this was the soundtrack to my student days in the college bar in Cardiff, me in my flying jacket with the TS125er Suzuki falling apart outside - Happy days!
