Part worn 48 tooth rear sprocket for '05 WR450 needed for 8.30am tomorrow in Exmouth

My rear sprocket is knacked & i'm due out tomorrow.

it may be ok but probably not.

I know, bad maintenance but it wasn't too bad last week, Smetharpe has killed it disbelief. New chain & sprockets are on order ready for A2E but won't arrive in time for tomorrows ride.

I tried a borrowed 50 tooth but the chain's too tight. I may try taking out the lock nut on the adjuster screws to move the wheel forward a bit more, it doesn't need much. I'll have to check the tyre doesn't catch the swing arm though.

On the off chance I thought I'd check if anyone has a worn 48 tooth sprocket I could pick up tonight or 1st thing in the morning (somewhere fairly near Exmouth would help) as that would be better.

Got various lengths of chain and split links here if you want to try and lengthen the chain Steve. What sort of chain you got?

Maybe come here and do the fixing and start the run from mine?

I'll try moving the wheel forward first. If thats no good we'll try your links etc. Don't know which make is on it, it was on when i got the bike.

I'll know by 9am if it doesn't work & will ring you before you leave.

I'll meet Jon at the arranged place & we'll come over if necessary.

Bummer - now if you had a Katoom then I could help, loads of sprockets - even a wheel all ready to go in hmm

Guess its not much help as TTR is closer but I do have lots of R3 chain and links here if you need......

Cheers anyway Jon.

Hampster has a new 49 tooth sprocket but I don't want to ruin a new one for the sake of 1 ride.

I'm sure something will be sorted in the morning.

If all else fails I'll see if I can borrow my sisters pirate bike.

I turned the spacers around which gave around 5mm more forward movement.

The wheel is still clear of the swing arm, everythings good

except the weather
