Trailworld Spain

http://youtu.be/XL9C1DEBdyU

At the beginning of April a couple of us went out to Trailworld in Spain for a short break.  I'd chosen April to avoid the summer heat but the weather in Spain has been fairly dire since Christmas.  Fortunately, the rain made for some excellent riding conditions with washed out lanes and plenty of mud, and we were fortunate to avoid the down pours.

We rode AJP PR5s which were absolutely ideal for the conditions.  More poke than the CRF230 I'm used to and excellent suspension.  The only problems encountered were one flat tyre and all of the bikes refusing to start at the top of a mountain, although bumping did the trick.

Andy and Fran at Trailworld were excellent hosts.  The accomodation was first class and we were made to feel like part of the family from the moment we were collected from the airport.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the experience to anyone.

The video is nearly 15 minutes long but the action is broken up with some humourous interludes.  Please watch in HD with the volume set to 11.

So what we all want to know is, after the ultimate test ride the question is....... Would you spend you hard earnt cash on an AJP??????????????

Thanks for your kind words chaps.

Nige, I'd certainly have a PR5 at the right price.  I'd liken it to an XR250 engine in a alloy WR frame, but with fuel injection and electric start.  I previously had an XR250 and WR450 and the PR5 is something of a blend of the two.  The trails are wide open in Spain where as in Devon it's a lot more technical so I don't know if I'm ready to trade in my CRF230 just yet.

The PR5s at Trailworld are proving to be very reliable and the incident where all 3 refused to start at the top of the mountain was possibly down to a combination of rapid(ish) altitude changes and sulky lambda valves, something that wouldn't trouble us in Devon.  The bikes feature decent components and feel well made, although I'm not really sold on the white plastic / black rim look.

I hear Trailworld will be selling them off at around £3.5K when the new fuel injected (and lighter) 250 engine is introduced shortly...
