It's a good day out riding your bike on private land, plus being fully fed and watered throughout the day, including cake, scones, cream and jam
The timings are 9.00am - 6.30pm
The local horse events like us to go along and do a variety of marshalling jobs for them.
This can be score collecting on a cross country course or marking out.
You normally get to ride private ground that you would never get to ride any other way.
This is also a good pr exercise for the trf and we are seen in a more positive light by the horse brigade.
Please pm me if it's of any interest to you or your buddies.
As a Brucie Bonus, we have also been given permission to display banners or displays, promoting trail riding!! Also they wish to make a donation towards the TRF, plus double it up for last year as well
Riders so far:
Steve H
Jane
Bob
Doug

Unfortunately we are away that weekend or I would have my name down like a shot.
Its good fun, nice atmosphere, great catering, all in all a fun day, not too much rushing around and all in the cause of promoting bike/horse compatability and showing what nice people we are.
Just got this response from Chris Beer the organiser:
The event will go ahead practically whatever the weather so long as First aiders can get all around the course, The briefing will be at 9 am, we will be running the last horse cross country at 7 pm
See you and the guys/girls on Sunday
Thanks
Chris

Sorry guys but I am not going to be able to make it.
Hopefully someone else will take my place, it really will be a great days riding.
Any newbies looking for some experience would find this great as the riding isn't challenging but varied enough to keep it interesting plus you really do get looked after very well.
Big thanks to jane and bob at Bicton today. Much tea and cake as normal plus a donation to the fighting fund. Jane had a bicton badger midway through the afternoon session, no harm done. Bob stayed upright allday even though the grass did get very slippery when it rained. 230 horses through the gates today, if we can match those numbers in august at smeatharpe i will be very happy. Nearly forgot there is a bottle of plonk for you two from the organisers.
