Devon Classic, Twinshock and Evos - Monkton Sunday 19th May

If anyone wants to come and see, hear and smell some old racing bikes, racing around a scramble track on the side of a hill smile come and have a look on Sunday,  the usual TRF competitors should be there, me, Grouty, John, and hopefully Craig and Kerry - come and have a chat and a laugh at us if you come!!

Dan

Arm still in plaster for another 4 weeks, Dan.

But I will be there to do some marshalling, so not all bad news biggrin.

Great day, thanks or the support and help with marshalling. Kerry you missed my last race, got a great start but was cut up big time and eat the dirt and took out 2 others - broke my clutch lever so that finished my days racing!

Alan had a big off and was ambulanced to hospital with a disclocated shoulder and suspected broken wrist

Witnessed a close duel between Ian and John top day and I think Dan should get a third as most the field in his class only did 5 of the 6 lap race that should bump you up about thirty places Dan lol

I take it you mean wooden posts and rope ?

I guess they thought it wasn't needed. it's ok to use tape providing you can trust the competitors to stay on the track and not cut corners. All was good yesterday though.

There are pro's and cons for both views Doug. I prefer a mix of the two. The track was legal by the rule book, so as a steward I was happy to sign for it. Also bearing in mind there were no quads racing this time.
As you probably noticed at our track at Harberton we have stakes and ropes on the apex of each corner and anywhere that we think there may be a conflict with other traffic. Perhaps we go a bit beyond the book, but that's how we have always done it.
You will also find that where "schoolboy" motocross is concerned they are not allowed to use ropes or stakes.

I just hope it's not the middle of June (15-16th) as I'm away racing in Cornwall !
Can't wait for the next one. You going to give us a clue with the venue Matt !
