I rarely bid on items I'm watching.  I just watch out of curiosity/market research.

Do people notice that more watchers = more bids?

CR500 has over 100 watchers but only 10 bids so far, so I guess 10% is about right.

I'm well aware that it all happens in the last hour anyway.....

Sometimes I watch to see what things actually sell for so I know roughly what to expect if i'm looking for or selling something similar.

I bought a part for my car last week, the item didn't meet the reserve. I contacted the seller afterwards & we did a deal outside of e bay that we were both happy with.

Also, I always bid my maximum amount with about 5 seconds to go. Sometimes It works, sometimes not.

BTW, I hate the way they say you've won an item. No I haven't, I bloody bought it evileye

what's the next best thing now?

I like in the US that everyone use Craigslist, shame there isn't anything as established here, I suppose Gum Tree?

At the end of the day ebay are a business.  There aim is to make money.  Mobile phone fees may be higher to deter tea leaves selling hookie gear.

Once HMRC are happy with everything Honda & Dobles provide, it can be registered, taxed & MOTed.  I should have it within a couple of weeks just in time for the school holidays.

Just as well I didn'tput a reserve on the CR because it would never had made it.
