As the title suggests I have a 58 Yamaha WR450. Has anybody - or does anyone know how I can lower the seat height by about 50-75mm. Carve up the seat and re cover or is there some sort of clever linkage mod I can do?
Grow some longer legs sorry that was not very helpful, how much sag is there in the rear spring ? you could lower the front end a little by having the forks protruding 10mm from the top of the yoke this will also help turning.

Gaschef on this forum may have a lowering link in stock, and he can certainly make you one using yours as a pattern if he doesn't have a one already on the shelf. Send him a pm and ask.
See HERE for a description of how I fitted one he made to my CCM, the WR probably isn't dissimilar.
dropped my 08 wr450 by, raising the forks through the yolks about an inch, wind the rear spring lock up, so the bike sits lower, not noticed any difference in ride at all, did this to my CRF, WR450 and just done it to my KTM also, did have to seat scooped out on the CRF also then they put memory foam in it so looks the same when you are not on it, but when you sit on it is lower : )
I'd be interested on seeing now you get on as I have a simaler problem on my wr400 most of the time it's fine but there are occasions when riding technical hills that I go to dab a foot and find nothing but air :-/
I think i'm going to go down the forks and rear spring route and the link that Steve H has described. I really love the bike but would just like to be able to get my foot on the deck when needed, especially after Escot.
I'll be there Sunday Steve so If I could take a look at yours I'll be very appreciative.... Shall I wear a red rose so you can recognise me....!
