Legal forest riders need some riders!

Emailed through last night. And whilst I would love to go, busy time for me at the moment.

Hi,

Take up for the chance to ride in Tarenig has so far been slow.  It's a fantastic venue and we're holding rides for sportsmen/trail riders and big bikes, but if the numbers don't improve by the end of the week we'll reluctantly have to cancel.

Our ride leaders on the day are both instructors from the Yamaha Off Road Experience so you'll be in extremely good hands and will have the chance for a few riding tips along the way.

Don't let this great opportunity pass you by, go to the web site for more information and book now!

Regards,
The Legal Forest Riders Team.

A very last minute decision led to me signing up for this with my friend Stu from the area. What a day! John Begley took the group of ten out from the centre in Llandidloes in the morning to test everyone's abilities, with a whole mix of bikes from a Husaberg, TTR and an aging XR400 to some KTM strokers, 4ts, and my CRF.

Epic scenery matched by the epic weather on Sunday....strangely the weather greatly added to the experience. Massively windy with squally showers, we were lucky enough to avoid the serious rain until very late in the day. A minor badger on a bend in the morning saw Stu break his clutch lever, so it was back for an early lunch and repairs. This proved somewhat fortunate, as we then had 'the boss' Geraint Jones lead us round the forests in the afternoon. We ran a system of back marking the junctions until the last rider came through, which made it all flow quite fast and gave everyone a chance to have a go at keeping up with Mr Jones himself!

A great mix of singletrack and fire roads, enormous puddles, reasonably tricky climbs made for a day that we'll remember for some time. Didn't see another soul out there!

And the affable Mr Jones decided to donate the fees to the local TRF.

Even if you don't get a chance to get out on the LFR days I'd say that it's well worth a trip to mid Wales to experience this as a client. Be sure to check out the Yamaha Off Road experience in Llandidloes. Looks like you can take your own bikes too. smile

What a great write up, thanks for sharing your experience.

I reckon more will look into going now, I certainly will.

Fantastic of Geraint to do that as well. Top bloke.

Thanks for the feedback, have been meaning to go for a couple of years now, and never quite made it.
Need to make more of an effort.

Got ourselves on another one, Garw Forest this weekend 24 Nov. Can't be bad for twelve quid!

Any other takers?
