Am really starting to like this style of bikes, never ridden one though but imagine it would be pretty good to ride. Rapid acceleration given the size of the rear 'sprocket'??

Nah, the front one looks pretty big also. I guess it's a way of limiting the torque that the belt has to deal with.
Belts on a dirt bike, Hmmm. What wrong with this picture..., mud, stones and a drive belt.
Yep would be interested to see how long they last, and if the mud builds up on the sprokets causing problems, but as for long life, my sportster is now 20 plus years old but with only 15K on the clock, I thought about changing it and was told by Harley that its 30K change period no matter what age, so its still on the original belt, In the 5 years I have had it I havent needed to adjust the belt. I have spoken to some owners who have exceeded 45K on a belt with no problems.
I have a hunch that the belt would probably last longer than expected, and certainly a lot longer than your back would trying to haul the beastie out of the mud if you got stuck. The big problem I see with our riding conditions is the position of the regulator box in between the front down tubes, its that thing you can see with fins on, the ignition coils are under the tank at the front just waiting to get wet, and the crazy automatically resetting circuit breakers which if your battery is a bit flat trip out when you try to start it, and sometimes take 20 mins before they reset. and no kick start
Still it looks like a lot of fun

Velly Nice Grasshopper, I would like a set of those pipes, however I would like to see the midget who rides the beast looking at the position of the foot pegs, they can only be 3 foot tall, either that or they ride with their chin resting on their knees.
Got me thinking again bout a Dyna this year and some mods to the sportster

Holy Excrement Batman, just had a look on the Storz site, Set of upside down forks 3 grand plus, Petrol Tank 1 grand, Seat Unit 500, exhaust about 1500, rear shocks a grand, Bet you don't get much change out of 10 grand.
Now I wonder set of Snide and Sharks sorry Pride and Clarks reverse cone megas, thicker oil in the front forks, jack the arse end up a bit, set of knobblies and I could have the only forward control Harley laning bike, might have to put another set of foot pegs on so I can stand up, but I will have a comfy seat for those long days of laning.
