Passports at the ready

After pulling out of Pete's Christmas run due to family visiting, I managed to tag along on Matt T's run.

9am at Tesco's was the arranged start point, and with the sun shining we set off Eastwards.

There was a good mix off bikes, and Matt was pleased to see Khanage also rode a CCM, handy to have a donor bike for the odd bolt or two!winkwink

I have ridden a few of the lanes which we rode today a couple of times before, but the majority of them were new for me.

We started off with a cheeky little whitey, and had to ask the farmer to move his tractor out the way, which he did with a smile.

As I do not know the area too well, I have just listed the lane numbers for those who want to trace our steps.

We had a bloody nose, badgers (me included but that was Butty's fault for stopping for a small tree in the wayconfuse) and my personal highlight was getting cross rutted in a lane where the water was knee deep, unfortunately Rick tickled some Dorset Trout in this same lane, bike and rider was fine though.

We said our goodbyes at South Chard, and we managed to do one more on the way home, when the heavens opened. Warming Brew at mine whilst the weather cleared before Khanage headed back to Taunton.

Excellent day out, covering 103km, and all the lanes were fantastic and slippery.

View towards Beaminster and beyond.

Yes we were lucky with the weather yesterday, but the sun always shines on the righteous apparantly!

Just driven along the A303 near Ilchester the side winds and torrential rain made things a little exciting, glad to be back in the workshop this afternoon!
