How you going to get it the scilly isles, I'd like to go there with mine!
Put it in the water at Penzance, and follow the Scillonian out there!
The guys on the Scillonian keep an eye on you as long as you let them know the day before you are following (I did all my merchant Navy steering tickets on the Scillonian so easy enough, especially when you have family running her day to day )
The X Pro 420 which I bought has been taken to the Channel Isles, so to the IOS is nothing. The Bonwitco fish & Ski used to do it no problem.
Its handy to have a point of contact over there to look after the boat for a day or two.
Interesting - I have a 4.2 aluminium dingy with a 10hp motor that will do 20mph in a flat sea and is rated for 4 people up to a F6. One of these http://www.seastrikeboats.co.uk/boatPics.php?id=semivee007 although I don't have the console - How fast does the Sicilonian go?

She'll cruise at 17 if she has too, but normally makes 14, dropping to 12 ish in forced 6 +. Used to struggle speed wise in the cross swells off Lands End, but had ballast tanks fitted a few years back, takes the fun out of it but lowers the amount of sickbag usage!
If you sit 40@ off the stern, you ride a flat wake all the way out there - in the summer you will be joined by several private dive boats!
If the boat you have is not rated for offshore use, use the Gry Maritha to ship her over, I know someone who will meet, and greet your boat, and have it fuelled ready for your arrival if your prefer, mum used them after she realised where I was taking her boat ( School Boy error - follow your Uncle's ship in your mums boat!!!)
As you say school boy error! Mines an RCD C which I think is inshore, up to F6 and 2m waves - not that I'd ever intentionally be out in that! It copes fine out at the Tennants.
Just googled your boat - much more substantial than mine, maybe I'll stick to Lyme Bay!!
